Fi and I crossed paths on the wonderful world of Instagram… you know that place that can easily zap the whole of nap time?! Or mean you miss virtually a whole episode on Netflix!? A great place to share, connect and be inspired but also a great place to get lost too!! Fi is a tea drinking, weekend loving first time mum who wants to share the good in motherhood and provide support to all those first timers out there! As we all know, it really is one crazy ride… be sure to swing by her blog and say hi :) In the meantime, get to know her a little better…

  1. So, tell us, who is @mummamorrison?

Hi! My name is Fi, and I’m a 28 year old first time mum to a beautiful 9 month old baby boy. I’m currently on maternity leave from primary school teaching, and I have started a new mum blog and a necklace business (which is more of a hobby).

  1. Can you describe your biz in 3 words.

  1. Why do you do what you do?

My aim is to support new and prospective mothers in their motherhood journey. As a new mum myself, it was extremely challenging making this change, and I want to be able to help other new mothers through this change as m

uch as possible.

  1. What have been your best biz moments so far?

I have loved the opportunity to chat with so many mums from different backgrounds and experiences, and build relationships with them over our mutual status of “mother”.  Also the opportunity to work with amazing biz mums has been a wonderful benefit that I didn’t even know I’d get to experience.

  1. What does a typical day look like for you?

Fiona MorrisonHa! Unfortunately there doesn’t seem to be a “typical” day here. With my 9 month old, anything can go! If we’re at home, I’ll try my best to work while he’s asleep, and spend time with him if he’s awake. I spend a lot of my time on the computer or phone (as a blogger) but also try to make the most of spending time with other mums and socialising when I can.

  1. What’s your ‘ME TIME’ go to?

Most of the time I classify my blog/biz as my “me” time! If I were to do anything different, it’d likely be a once-in-a-blue-moon massage or chill on the couch watching Netflix (which is usually what hubby and I do after dinner to relax).

  1. What’s your favourite day of the week, and why?

I love the weekends because we try to have as much family time as possible. It also means an extra set of hands with our son so I can stay in bed a bit longer in the mornings, and if I have a quick email to send off or post to write, my husband can watch our son while I work.

  1. What does your perfect date night (or day!) look like?

I used to be very romantic, but now that I’m a mum, getting out on ANY kind of date is amazing haha!! We enjoy going to Gold Class movies, so dinner and then a movie is a winner for me :)

  1. Can you give us a favourite quote?

My favourite quote for business and life is

“She was unstoppable.
Not because she did not have failures or doubts. But because she continued on despite them”

– Beau Taplin.

I’m an enthusiastic person, as well as a perfectionist. This means I come up with lots of ideas that I want to achieve and accomplish, and I put expectations on myself to do them all really well. I like this quote that reminds me that things might not be perfect all the time, but if I keep going with perseverance, I’ll be able to achieve the things that I want to achieve.MummaMorrison logo
