how do you boob?

Meet Jessie.. the wonderful mum behind Borne Too. A brand of breastfeeding wear born out of a fierce want to still feel human (i.e. not all boob, and not all ‘just mum’), be fashionable and still comfortably breastfeed. This mama tackled the near on impossible to bring us a range of easy to wear, easy to mix and match, 100% comfortable and stylish clothing to make that transition to mumhood that bit more bearable!! We got to know a little bit more about Jessie, her coffee fuelled mum life, helicopter parenting style, and love of Fridays!!

  1. So, tell us, who is @bornetoo?

Borne Too is simple, versatile and practical maternity wear made for breastfeeding mums.

  1. Can you describe your biz in 3 words…

  1. Why do you do what you do?borne too breastfeeding

I felt there was a niche market for breastfeeding clothing that allowed women to wear clothes they already owned and loved.  I want women to still feel like themselves and wear their favourite clothes with the added practicality of being able to comfortably breastfeed.

  1. What have been your best biz moments so far?

Probably launching in September 2015!!  Seeing everything come together and officially ‘opening the doors’ to my business was exhilarating.

  1. What does a typical day look like for you?

borne too breastfeeding wearMy husband, Kane works away, sometimes for a month or so at a time.  So day-to-day life is hectic when he’s away, and quite different when he’s home.

Essentially it’s a lot of multi-tasking. Mornings are chaos – feeding the baby while feeding myself and the toddler, inhaling litres of coffee, getting everyone semi-presentable with bag packed and out the door for playdates/daycare/bootcamp/playgroup – whatever is on the agenda that day. Returning home to try and tackle the endless mountain of clean washing, dishes and kids toys.  Fitting in naps {when each child obliges} gives me time to respond to emails, deal with orders, update social media and eat – it’s really never ending!  It’s all systems go again when the kiddies wake up until they are bathed and in bed at night time.

When Kane’s home I have extra hands most days to get things done, it halves the time to get ready and makes life a lot easier in general!

  1. What’s your ‘me time’ go to?

Cup of tea and relaxing on the couch with my phone, book or Netflix – whatever I feel like at the time.

  1. What’s your favourite day of the week, and why?

Probably Friday, with the weekend ahead, the possibilities are endless.  Plus everyone is just happier on Fridays.

  1. What does your perfect date night (or day!) look like?

It has been so long since I’ve had a proper date night/day with my husband.  Maybe a nice long-lunch where we can laze around and not have to be home in time for any feeds or nap times for the kids.

  1. Can you give us a favourite quote?

“Comparison is the thief of joy” – Theodore Roosevelt

  1. Any ‘mum fails’ you’d like to let us in on?

So many, where do I begin?! The one that springs to mind is taking my toddler to the park and bouncing her on those springy horse-things… I’m sure you know the ones?  My husband always tells me I’m super cautious with her (helicopter parent), so I bounced her a bit faster as she was enjoying it. She then flew off and couldn’t brace her fall so she face-planted it and cut her lip, screamed and screamed and it felt like everyone at the park was looking at us.  I think I’ll just stick to being the cautious parent…LOGO BORNE TOO
