SLEEP BABY SLEEP
Self confessed shopaholic (without the kids, of course!), espresso martini lover and folding washing hater… we have been getting to know the lovely Ami from Baby Sleeping Solutions. Ami dedicates her time to helping other parents get the sleep they well and truly need, to be able to enjoy that amazing time of having a newborn. All the heart brimming love and overwhelming amounts of pure joy can quickly subside when sleep deprivation kicks in, and mama is running on nothing but sheer determination (plus that whole lot of love). Ami helps families by empowering them with the knowledge and tools they need to help with that lack of sleep. Through her one on one chats, group talks and home visits this mama has helped many new parents. Watch this space… Ami may even share a few of her top tips with us here! In the meantime, grab a cuppa and get to know this super mum :)
1. So, tell us, who is @babysleepingsolutions?
I am a Baby Sleep Specialist whose aim is to educate and empower parents so that they can enjoy their baby. After all, we all need to sleep!
2. Can you describe your biz in 3 words…
Tailored. Practical. SLEEP!!
3. Why do you do what you do?
Because I remember (and hated) the sleepless night and the unsettled baby during the day. I get to share my knowledge and help other parents through the tough times, it’s wondrous “job”!!
4. What have been your best biz moments so far?
I’d have to say when I took on the challenge of devising a routine for a family who had twins & Dad worked away… but I just love it when I get that magical message from my clients “it worked! They slept!” Still makes my day :)
5. What does a typical day look like for you?
I normally get up between 4:30-5am and attend to all my clients who have needed me overnight, have coffee and any other admin bits and pieces. Then I get my children ready for school and drop them off, straight to my workout, shower then I usually have a talk or a consult booked. After that, I either run errands, catch up with a friend for coffee or volunteer in the school canteen. 3pm! Time to pick up the children and taxi them to their after school activities. We get home and have dinner before cuddles on the couch and their bed time. I’m usually not far behind!
6. What’s your ‘me time’ go to?
Shopping, definitely shopping!
7. What’s your favourite day of the week, and why?
Wednesday! Hump day! My get sh*t done day!
8. What does your perfect date night (or day!) look like?
Cocktails, a beautiful dinner and a bit of dancing -perfection!
9. Can you give us a favourite quote?
COME WHAT MAY ON A LATER DAY.
I MIGHT GET WET BUT IT’S ONLY RAIN.
10. Any ‘mum fails’ you’d like to let us in on?
I remember putting my thumb in the back of my baby’s nappy to check and pulling it out covered in poo! (Eugh, but oh yes… am sure we all remember those moments!!)
